Amaterasu cursed herself again as her struggles failed to so much as rattle the lid of the box. Her tiny kinetic companion had advised her never to leave potential treasure untouched, and she felt a strong inclination to blame him for her current predicament. However, it had ultimately been her decision, driven by visions of lacquerware, crystal, and the rarest porcelain, that had driven her to open up every chest she could find, no matter its location. This particular one had been quite literally out in the open, rather than buried underground like most examples. Though only a fool would have left valuable treasure where anyone could pick it up, she had failed to notice anything suspicious about its conspicuousness. This belief that fortune had favored her had resulted in her current unfortunate situation.
It had turned out that not all chests were simple wooden containers. As she had charged at the box, the lid had flown open, causing her to trip into the chest's open maw. The heavy cover had then slammed shut, but this had been only the first part of the trap. Inside, the rare and valuable Ruby Tassels had immediately attacked her, enwrapping the wolf goddess before she could react. Her paws having been relentlessly bound, leaving her with even less mobility than she had thought possible, she again attempted to force the massive stone out of her mouth. However, it stayed stubbornly wedged in her jaws, forcing her silence. This was incredibly humiliating, the goddess though. She had neither wanted to nor planned on being found as treasure herself!
